A Space Where Teens Can
Be Themselves
Finding a therapist who a teen feels comfortable with can make an important difference. Our clinicians strive to create a genuine, collaborative relationship where teens can feel heard, respected and understood. Therapy is not about telling teens what they should do — it is about working alongside them to understand their experiences, develop useful skills and identify meaningful goals.
Our clinicians use evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches that are adapted to each teen's personality, needs and goals. Sessions may incorporate conversation, CBT, DBT-informed strategies, mindfulness, emotion regulation, problem-solving and other therapeutic techniques.

Neurodiversity
We provide neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapy for autistic and ADHD teens. Rather than focusing on changing who a teen is, our approach supports teens in understanding themselves, navigating challenges and developing strategies that work for their individual needs.
Some Frequently Asked Questions
What Role Do Parents Play in Therapy?
Parents and caregivers can play an important role in supporting a teen's mental health, while teens also need space to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship of their own. The level of caregiver involvement will depend on the teen's age, needs and treatment goals. Your clinician will discuss confidentiality and its limits at the beginning of therapy so that everyone understands what to expect.
How Do I Know If My Teen Needs Therapy?
You may want to consider therapy when changes in your teen's emotions, behaviour, relationships or daily functioning are causing concern or making it difficult for them to manage everyday life. Signs may include ongoing anxiety, low mood, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, changes in sleep or school performance, low self-esteem, difficulty managing emotions, relationship challenges or significant changes in their usual behaviour. You don't have to wait until a concern becomes severe to seek support. A therapist can help you better understand what your teen is experiencing and determine whether therapy may be appropriate.
What Can Teens Expect From Therapy?
Teen therapy is different for everyone. Sessions provide a space to talk about what's going on, explore thoughts and emotions, develop coping strategies and work toward goals that matter to the teen. Depending on their needs, therapy may involve practical exercises, skill-building, problem-solving or simply having a supportive space to talk.
What If My Teen Doesn't Want Therapy?
It's common for teens to feel unsure or hesitant about therapy, particularly if they feel that someone else has decided they need help. Rather than forcing a teen to immediately open up, our clinicians focus on building trust and creating a relationship where the teen feels heard and respected. We can also work with parents and caregivers to explore ways of introducing therapy that feel supportive rather than pressured.
