Couples therapy isn't only for married couples. We support partners at different stages and in different types of relationships, including dating, common-law, and long-term partnerships.
Therapy may also be helpful for couples navigating major decisions about their relationship, including separation, reconciliation, or uncertainty about the future.

A Safe Space to Work on Your Relationship
Couples therapy provides an opportunity for both partners to feel heard, understood, and supported. Our therapists work collaboratively with couples to identify patterns that may be contributing to relationship difficulties and develop healthier ways of communicating and responding to one another.
Some Frequently Asked Questions
How Do We Know If Couples Therapy is Right For Us?
Couples therapy may be helpful if you're experiencing ongoing conflict, communication difficulties, emotional distance, trust concerns, or challenges that feel difficult to resolve on your own. You don't need to be in crisis to seek support. Couples may also choose therapy to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, or better navigate an upcoming life transition.
What Happens During the First Session?
The first session typically focuses on understanding what brought you to therapy, learning about your relationship, and identifying the concerns or goals you would like to work on. Both partners will have an opportunity to share their perspective. Your therapist will also explain how the therapy process works and begin developing a plan based on your needs.
Do Both Partners Need to Attend?
Ideally, both partners participate in couples therapy because the work focuses on the relationship and the patterns between partners. However, there may be circumstances where one partner begins therapy independently. If your partner is not ready to attend, individual therapy can still provide an opportunity to explore your own needs, communication patterns, and relationship concerns.
Will The Therapist Take Sides?
No. Couples therapy is not about deciding who is right or wrong. Your therapist's role is to support both partners, understand different perspectives, and help identify relationship patterns that may be contributing to difficulties. The goal is to create a balanced and supportive environment where both people can participate in the process.
